A couple of weeks ago we were treated to a trip to the Silverstone Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit for some track time behind the wheel of  a Ferrari F430. Accompained by a professional race driver we got into 6th gear on Hangar straight and exceeded 150mph. An amazing experience in an astonishing super car, definitely an expereince we would recommend.

“The F430′s light, compact 4,308 cc engine that gives the car its name is completely new ; it punches out 490 hp and delivers a specific power output of 114 hp/l and 465 Nm of torque. Needless to say, performance is outstanding: acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in four seconds flat and a maximum speed in excess of 315 km/h.”

The Dark Lens project by Cedric Delsaux has been a work in progress since 2005 and linked many times online. A new set of images has been released which made me revisit the project. tebe_interesno

I’ve just been pouring through the past blog entries of Tebe Interesno on his LiveJournal. He’s got a great imagination in his use of abstract characters blended into everyday photographic scenes. They’ve got a weird vibe halfway between cute and evil!

I’ve been following Zhang Jingna’s portfolio for the last couple of years. There’s a really dreamlike quality to her photography. Twenty years old, born in Beijing and brought up in Singapore her commercial fashion photography and personal work has a great edgy feel. Continue Reading

wee planets

Amazing 360° panoramas projected to look like small planets by Alexandre Duret-Lutz. You can check out his massive gallery of Wee Planets on Flickr.
‘The first 48 planets were all shot with my Sony DSC-T5 point-and-shoot camera. The problem of this camera is that there is no way to lock the exposure, so the 50+ shots it takes to make a panorama are all exposed differently… Using PTblender to color correct an entire panorama is as difficult as it is … Continue Reading

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2007 photography

Luckily the severe weather warning issued by the Met Office didn’t make the Festival a washout. There were some amazing cars on display including some deafening Formula One V8′s and the beautiful Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5. Check out the photography in the A8 album here: Goodwood Festival of Speed 2007.

selboune in the snow 02

With the heaviest snowfall we’ve seen in Hampshire for a very long time it was a great excuse to go out with the camera.

I’ve uploaded some photography shot this morning on the zig-zag walk around the village of Selborne. If you’re ever in that neck of the woods it’s great countryside, you can park behind the Selborne Arms (handy for lunch) and take the steep zig-zag up onto the common overlooking Gilbert White’s House and come back through the centre of the village.

Winter Garden Photography 03

It’s been ages since I last shot any photography. And it’s definitely not the best time of year to shoot outdoors, bloomin’ freezing and gloomy.

Visiting the Winter Garden at Hillier’s in Romsey revealed some interesting colour palettes and threw up some oddities including an Earthstar.

The Winter Garden Photography can be viewed in the photo album.

Daltons Charity Cricket Match

I went to support some friends at Daltons Solicitors hold their annual charity Cricket match playing Liss Cricket Club to raise funds for The Rowans Hospice last week and ended up shooting the photography. A nice little slice of Hampshire life, you can see the photography in the photo album here.

lightning storm in the meon valley
Well the building got struck by lightning during one of the most violent thunder storms we’ve seen for a long time. Luckily we weren’t affected badly by the power surge. Check out the shots of the lightning in the photography gallery.
