Diggers Forest School
Evolving the identity of a unique forest school
Diggers Forest School provides an environment for preschool children based on a holistic approach to learning, education and wellbeing. Founded in 2007, Diggers opened its first full-time setting in South Harting in 2015 when we are asked to help in the development of the school.
Objectives
- Develop the long established identity for Diggers that references the historic logo mark
- Design a visual language for the school and bring it to life in application
- Design and develop a new engaging experience for the school website
- Develop a new visual asset language that works in both on- and offline applications
Actions
Based in the South Downs Country Park the school is very different to a typical early years setting with access to vast amounts of outdoor space, across woodland and farmland for children to explore, learn and discover. Diggers is dedicated to helping support inquisitive, happy, confident children.
We were approached by Alex and Caroline to help improve the school website. Having visited, evaluated the branding and spent time in the school environment it was clear the identity as a whole needed updating. Over a number of years we have worked closely with the school to help reinvigorate the brand, print design and online presence.
Embracing the school ethos and handcrafted aesthetic the brand identity retains historic brand awareness and the introduction of a structured visual language allows the school to sit in the education space alongside other established high-profile schools.
